Alignement
Alignment was written as part of the Bretigny theater beauty of gesture project. In this context, I shared with an osteopath practicing in Bretigny. Blind from an accident, he sees colors when he comes in contact with the bodies he is treating. We talked about the transition from black to white, from chaos to order, about how the elements universally order to harmonize. From this meeting was born this piece for cello, the instrument played closest to the body. It comes with a vocal guide I wrote for the instrumentalist to help him enter a modified state of consciousness to prepare him to play. The interpretation of the musician is played out in the temporality of the transitions between the different chords / colors. These transitions are triggered by the performer's perception of the tensions in his body that these chords / colors produce. Slowly the fingers slide until the sound waves vibrate harmonically, the body of the instrumentalist, that of the cello, those of the spectators align.
